LIT-mip: Literary Magazine in Progress

Written by Claudia Steen

As spring greens and gusty winds brighten the CSArts campus, Sugar Pine has been working up a storm to bring you our next volume. I’m sure you’ve all seen by now that from our website, plethoras of blog posts, and lots of updates on our Instagram page, some of you may have even begun to receive emails about your submissions. The Sugar Pine team is at the halfway point with our next volume, and the team is thrilled about it! We’ve gathered all of our accepted submissions and are preparing for the grand process of designing and publishing our next great addition to the Sugar Pine series.

In my first year working on Sugar Pine. I have found this work to be one of the most exciting and rewarding experiences I have had this semester. I work with the Marketing and Design team, a talented group of SugarPine members who have been in charge of posting to social media, making flyers, and soon we will be in charge of cover design as well! While I haven’t had the opportunity to work on the poetry and prose teams yet, I have been blown away by their talent in finding pieces that live and breathe Sugar Pine. The Sugar Pine team is more than ecstatic to introduce this new take on a volume that is more grunge, fun, and unique compared to our past literary magazines. This volume has been playing with color in terms of in-designing, different and new content, and a vibe that is more true to the spirit of a school filled with artists.

Our wonderful Editor and Chief, Dominic Anaya Gulaya, committee leaders, and the entire SugarPine Staff have worked tirelessly to bring this work together and we will continue to as we go from a half-done LIT-mip to a fully polished, published, and perfected new addition.
