Reflections

Wow. It has been such a whirlwind of a semester, and I am so proud of and grateful for our amazing team and the beautiful magazine we’ve created together!

Every submitter was so talented and every piece let that show, and I really cannot emphasize enough how thankful we were for every single submission.

Since the beginning, we’ve all put so much work into this class, with rounds of editing every submitted piece, endless social media promotions, the creation of this new and lovely blog, thinking about and designing the book itself, and so much more.

It’s been ups and downs all the way through– rushing to finish editing submissions and the magazine layout interspersed with weeks of just… waiting for things to get put together– but we preserved through it all and made something new, creative, and gorgeous. As I’m looking at our final product, I feel like this issue was able to become its own piece of art in itself, and I couldn’t be prouder.

This Friday (the 24th), we’re going to have an event at lunch featuring some readers to show you a sneak peak of what’s going to be in Volume VII, which I really hope you’ll attend! We’ll also be giving out stickers and bookmarks and selling lots of snacks and, of course, Sugar Pine.

A lovely new edition to our set up this year is that we’ve also accepted pieces to our new Online Journal hosted on our website! Over the next week orr so, we’ll be posting those fantastic pieces, so make sure to keep an eye out!

Thank you all so much again for supporting Sugar Pine through another wonderful year and so many changes.
